Pond Animals

Koi -  Koi Fish are the kings of the pond world.  These fish are legends in certain cultures and this is no doubt due to their eventual large size and extreme longevity (some live more tham 80 years).

Gold Fish -  These survivors of the fish world can grow up to 8″ inches in length and don’t have to be fed.  They can live for up to 20 years and make the perfect “wet pet”.

Turtles – Red Slider garden turtles are generally very shy, but with patience and some food in hand, they can be trained to be friendly and open to  humans.

Frogs – Frogs can be fun.  Watch out for bull frogs, as these can emit a loud croaking which has been mistaken for a grinding car engine, which might be ok during the day, but might keep you up at night.

Local Wild Life – Pond owners will find that in addition to the above, their pond may attract an array of interesting wild life some that they never knew existed in their neighborhood. Animals, Insects and Birds, such as Dragon Flies, Blue Heron Falcons, Blue Jays and occasional squirrels will want to play and frolic in the wonderful wet and soothing sounds of the moving pond water.
